<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile communication system, mobile station device, base station device, and handover method capable of speeding up handover. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A mobile station 12, which performs soft handover to a base station 14-2 from a base station 14-1 that establishes uplink frame synchronization and is under communication, calculates the timing difference between a reception timing of a downlink signal transmitted from the base station 14-1 and that of a notification control channel transmitted from the base station 14-2 in S100 as an amount of timing correction (S126), and corrects a transmission timing of uplink ANCH to the base station 14-2 based on the transmission timing of an uplink signal to the base station 14-1 and the timing difference calculated in S126, thus establishing uplink frame synchronization with the base station 14-2 (S128).
