INTERNET TELEPHONE TERMINAL EMPLOYING A SOFTWARE AUTOMATIC CONNECTION BASED ON BROADBAND WIRELESS INTERNET, AND A CONTROL METHOD THEREFOR

The present invention relates to an Internet telephone terminal which automatically connects to the server of an operator providing an Internet-based telephony service through broadband wireless Internet, and which provides an Internet telephony service in the form of a softphone. The invention also relates to a control method therefor.  The present invention comprises: a wireless Internet transmitting and receiving means for connecting to broadband wireless Internet; an input means for inputting images or text including audio; an output means for outputting images or text including audio; a memory means for storing software, a subscriber registration ID and secret number, address-book data and various items of settings data, categorised by Internet telephony service operator; and a control means for effecting control in such a way as to allow connection to the Internet through the abovementioned wireless Internet transmitting and receiving means, and for effecting control in such a way as to connect to the server(s) of at least one Internet telephony service operator to which the user is subscribed and to attempt automatic connection and hence achieve online status through the use of the abovementioned registration ID and secret number stored on the abovementioned memory means, and also for effecting control in such a way as to select one software package from among the software packages of at least one Internet telephony service operator and to attempt communication using the telephone number or ID input by the user.
