The invention relates to cosmetic or dermatological compositions that contain an orchid extract obtained from at least a portion of the species Vanda teres. The invention also relates to the use of these compositions and extracts as a cosmetic or dermatological agent for maintaining the structure of the skin, in particular by limiting the degradation of the extracellular matrix of the upper layers of the dermis and the epidermis, and/or for attenuating or delaying the effects of skin ageing, in particular the formation of wrinkles, and/or for obtaining a protective, corrective or restructuring effect of the skin, and/or as an anti-inflammatory agent. The invention also relates to a cosmetic care method of the skin particularly intended for obtaining a preventive or retardation effect of the occurrence of skin ageing signs.
