<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chip component type LED such that an LED chip is prevented from breaking or cracking. <P>SOLUTION: A thin metal plate 2a is formed at a part including a first recessed hole 3a for LED chip mounting of an insulating substrate 1, having the first recessed hole 3a and a second recessed hole 3b for thin metal wire connection formed, a thin metal plate 2b is formed at a part including the second recessed hole 3b, and the LED chip 5 is mounted on the thin metal plate 2a. The LED chip 5 is electrically connected to the thin metal plate 2b via a thin metal wire 6; and the LED chip 5 and a portion of the thin metal wire 6 that include the first recessed hole 3a are sealed with a first sealing resin portion 71 formed using a first transparent resin containing silicone resin particulates 71a, and the surface of an insulating substrate 1 that includes the first sealing resin portion 71 is sealed with a second sealing resin portion 72 formed using a second transparent resin, and the first sealing resin portion 71 and the second sealing resin portion 72 are formed of different materials. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
