<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeycomb structure body capable of decreasing amounts of a noble metal catalyst carried by the honeycomb structure body as compared with conventional honeycomb structure bodies under conditions of stable treating performance. <P>SOLUTION: In the honeycomb structure body containing inorganic particles and an inorganic binder, and consisting of a honeycomb unit in which a plurality of cells extending in a longitudinal direction from a first end surface to a second end surface are partitioned with cell walls, the cell walls carry the noble metal catalysts and a NOx occlusion catalyst, and the amounts of the noble metal catalysts substantially differ between in the cell walls positioned at the first end surface side and in the cell walls positioned at the second end surface side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
