PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a stepping motor to be used with a maximum torque and detect the step-out state more accurately, in a method of detecting the step-out state of the stepping motor, based on the induced voltage induced in a coil.
SOLUTION: By using a means 5, which applies a control current to each phase of coils 4 for driving an n-phase stepping motor 1, and a means, which individually measures counterelectromotive force (VA and VB) induced each in each phase of coils, the control currents for each phase of coils are stopped in order for each phase for a time t on a level that would not affect the rotation of the stepping motor at the specified point of time (T1-T6) during the stepping of one step in the rotor 3 of the stepping motor; and counterelectromotive force is measured during the stoppage, and when the results of measurement in at least one phase of coil fulfill the specified step-out state determination criteria, step out is detected.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
|
