PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine a motion vector affected by a moving subject highly precisely in performing vibration proof processing that eliminates an effect of the moving subject. SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus has: a motion vector calculating means 109 for calculating the motion vector at a plurality of places in an image obtained by taking a moving image; a determining means 113 for determining the motion vector corresponding to the moving subject among motion vectors at the plurality of positions; and processing means 114 to 116 for performing vibration proof processing to reduce image vibration on the basis of the motion vector other than motion vectors corresponding to the moving subject among the motion vectors at the plurality of positions. The determining means determines a motion vector corresponding to the moving subject on the basis of the determination of whether a motion vector at a position in correspondence among the plurality of positions has a specific relationship.
