<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display the shadow of a foreign substance captured in a recording image easily to recognize sensuously, and to modify the image, on the basis of a signal inputted from a terminal connected with a television and the position and size of the foreign substance. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The invention relates to an imaging apparatus, that can be connected with a television, including: an imaging element 20; a photo cell 18 disposed in front of the imaging element; a detection unit 36 for detecting the position and size of a foreign substance deposited on a surface of the photo cell; a storage unit 36 for storing information about the position and size of the foreign substance detected by the detection unit; a division unit 39 for dividing a screen of the imaging element into a plurality of regions correspondingly to keys of a ten key in a remote controller for operating the television; and a control unit 39 which combines an image indicating the position of the foreign substance existing in one region on the screen of the imaging element corresponding to one key, on the basis of the information about the position of the foreign substance stored in the storage unit when a signal resulting from pressing one key of the ten key in the remote controller is received from the television, and outputs a combination image to the television.
