PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable displacement vane pump capable of keeping manufacturing cost low with a simple structure. SOLUTION: The variable displacement vane pump includes a cam ring 4 having vanes 3 sliding on an inner circumferential surface following rotation of a rotor 2, first and second fluid pressure chambers 33, 34 with the cam ring 4 set eccentric to the rotor 2 by a pressure difference between the first and second fluid pressure chamber 33, 34, a control valve 21 operating according to pump delivery pressure and controlling a pressure of working fluid in the first and the second fluid pressure chamber 33, 34 so that an eccentric amount of the cam ring 4 to the rotor 2 is reduced with an increase in a rotation speed of the rotor 2, The pump includes the control valve 21, a pressure applying means 36 for applying pressure to the cam ring 4 in a direction of increasing the eccentric amount to the cam ring 4 by introducing working fluid delivered from the pump chamber 7 to the second fluid pressure chamber 34 all the time, and a cam ring movement restricting means 12 formed in the second fluid pressure chamber 34 and defining a minimum eccentric amount of the cam ring 4 by restricting the movement of the cam ring 4 in a direction of decreasing the eccentric amount to the rotor 2.
