<p>The roller bearing (1) comprises a bearing component (2) such as a bearing ring, a sleeve or a bush with a rolling body bearing surface (3) and/or a rolling body (4) moving on the bearing surface. The bearing component is deep-drawn from a cold strip with a carbon content (0.15-0.25%) and chromium alloy portion (12%), has an edge-side martensite structure concentrated with dissolved nitrogen for the formation of the rolling body bearing surface, so that a plateau-like hardness progression is given in an area near edges, and is post-treated in the area of the rolling body bearing surface. The rolling body has a surface hardness of 1000 HV, consists of roller bearing steel and has a surface coating produced by chemical vapor deposition or physical vapor deposition. The nitrogen content at the edge is 0.1-0.5%. The hardness of the hardness plateau in the vicinity of the surface is 58 HRC (high-rate clarification). An independent claim is included for a method for producing a bearing component for a roller bearing.</p> |
