PURPOSE: A method for controlling a driving mode of a hybrid vehicle is provided to change the driving mode according to a driving state of the vehicle, and to select the driving mode freely. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling a driving mode of a hybrid vehicle includes the following steps of: calculating battery discharge power; measuring the maximum power by a motor; determining whether the maximum power is over the minimum reference power or not according to a request of a driver; determining switch input(S28); driving the vehicle with the driving mode according to the switch input; and displaying the driving mode on a gauge(S40).
