摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable power supply system enabling smooth operation even if a load changes suddenly and dramatically. <P>SOLUTION: The portable power supply system has a fuel cell 2 and a rechargeable battery 8 connected in parallel, and a control unit 11. The control unit 11 feeds power to loads 12, 13 by power discharged from the rechargeable battery 8 from when the system is started to when the fuel cell 2 can feed power. When the fuel cell 2 can supply power, the control unit 11 increases the output of the fuel cell 2, and obtains the remaining capacity of the rechargeable battery 2 in advance when the output of the fuel cell 2 reaches a load power by the increase output. When the remaining capacity is larger than a prescribed value, the control unit 11 sets the upper limit of the output of the fuel cell 2 to be increased to a value smaller than the load power.
