PINCH DETECTION METHOD AND PINCH DETECTION DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pinch detection method making compatible the release of a force applied to a human body with the accuracy of the detection of a pinch.

SOLUTION: When the pinch of a foreign matter by an opening/closing member driven by a motor is detected by the combination of a pinch detection according to a variation in the capacitance of a pinch sensor and a pinch detection according to a variation in the load of the motor, a pinch detection sensitivity according to the variation in the load of the motor is increased (S16) when the variation in the capacitance of the pinch sensor in occurrence of the pinch does not exceed a threshold for pinch detection (S13, S15). The pinch detection sensitivity is increased by changing the threshold. The variation in the capacitance of the pinch sensor is indicated by a variation in frequency. The variation in the load of the motor is indicated by a variation in rotational speed.
