<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an implantable and sealable device for unidirectional delivery of therapeutic agents to tissue. <P>SOLUTION: A surgically implantable and sealable delivery device is provided for controllably diffusing the therapeutic agents selectively in one direction to tissue or an organ by putting the content of the device into contact with the tissue or organ through its interfacial window or opening part for exposing the therapeutic agents to the surface of the tissue or organ. The device protects adjoining organs or tissue structures from the therapeutic agents being delivered in unnecessarily high concentration. In addition to a method for delivering chemical therapeutic agents or bioactive substances to the tissue or organ of a mammal by means of a selective and protective diffusion mechanism through the surgically implanted device, a method for achieving sealability of the device is also provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
