PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly set a road intended by a user when the user touches a desired road link on a displayed map image to designate a point and set a via-point. SOLUTION: This navigation system includes a point setting means for specifying a road link corresponding to the point input by an inputting means and setting the road link as a destination or a via-point, a road comparing means, a scale changing means, and a display controlling means. The road comparing mean determines whether the road link specified by the point setting means is the road link corresponding to a road that is not displayed by the displaying means. When it is determined that it is the road link corresponding to the road that is not displayed, the scale changing means changes the scale to a scale allowing display of the road that is not displayed, and the display controlling means displays the road that is not displayed on the displaying means based on the changed scale.
