<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for thermally changing the interface between ice and an object. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A system includes a power source configured to be capable of generating a certain amount of power. The amount of power is great enough to melt an interface layer of ice at an interface, where the thickness of the interface layer ranges from 1 μm to 1 mm. A controller may be used to limit the time of duration of the power source's generating power to restrain unnecessary thermal energy from dispersing into the environment.
