<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide cross-linked glycopeptide-cephalosporin compounds and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, which are useful as antibiotics. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Provided are pharmaceutical compositions containing a specific cross-linked glycopeptide-cephalosporin compound; methods for treating bacterial infections in mammals and using such compounds; and processes and intermediates useful for preparing such compounds. When a vancomycin analogue is employed in the compounds, the binding site for crosslinking is amino acid 7 (AA-7) at position C-29.
