<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular energy-saving device and a vehicular energy-saving method capable of backing up the power of a vehicle without conversion to the electric energy, and demonstrating the energy-saving effect by effectively improving the fuel economy even in the driving pattern of repeating travel and stop. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The vehicular energy-saving device comprises a power transmission mechanism 2 which is connected to a driving shaft 1a of a vehicle 1 to input/output the power, a first clutch 3 connected to the power transmission mechanism 2, a power assist turbine 4 connected to the first clutch 3, a second clutch 5 connected to the power assist turbine 4, a compressor 6 connected to the second clutch, a storage tank 9 capable of storing compressed air generated by the compressor 6 and supplying the stored compressed air to the power assist turbine 4, and a control device 11 for controlling the coupling/uncoupling of the first clutch 3 and the second clutch 5 and the operation of the storage tank 9.
