<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to judge the quality of a picked-up image by informing the user of the type of an image pickup apparatus which has picked up the image corresponding to a thumbnail image in displaying the thumbnail image in an image pickup apparatus. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A digital camera uses a radio LAN circuit 106 to receive and acquire image pickup information and feature information representing the feature of the image pickup apparatus by which the picked-up image has been acquired. Thumbnail images obtained by reducing the picked-up images acquired in this way are displayed on a monitor 104, and images or characters corresponding to the feature of the image pickup apparatus are displayed on the monitor 104 together with the thumbnail images.
