<p>The invention provides a secure barcode that can represent a variety of information, such as an aircraft boarding pass or an identity document. An encryption system (100) generates barcode data (D) from a base value (N) and a time-sensitive token (T), the time-sensitive token (T) defining a period of validity of the base value (N). The barcode data (D) is encrypted with a secure key (K) to provide a barcode (150). The barcode may be provided to a mobile communications device (160). A decryption system (200), encryption method, decryption method, mobile communications device (600) and uses of a mobile communications device are also provided.</p> |
