摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader for reading an image in a hologram area of an object to be irradiated, and for determining the authenticity of the object to be irradiated. <P>SOLUTION: This image reader is provided with the first light source for irradiating the first irradiation part in the hologram area with a light, and the second light source, provided separately from the first light source along a conveying direction, and for irradiating the second irradiation part in the hologram area, when the hologram area is conveyed by a prescribed distance from the first irradiation part by a conveying means, with a light. The image reader is constituted to make an irradiation angle of irradiating the first irradiation part with the light from the first light source, different from an irradiation angle of irradiating the second irradiation part with the light from the second light source, when the hologram area is conveyed by the prescribed distance from the first irradiation part; receives respectively reflected lights reflected by the hologram area, via a rod lens array arranged along a main scanning direction and having an optical axis perpendicular to the conveying direction; and detects an electric signal regarding the hologram area of the object to be irradiated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
