<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a warm-up method and a warm-up system for a catalytic converter for purifying exhaust gas in which warm-up energy of an exhaust gas purifying catalyst can be increased to reduce warm-up time, and the exhaust gas purifying catalyst can be quickly activated. <P>SOLUTION: The warm-up system for catalytic converter for purifying exhaust gas is a system for an exhaust gas purifying catalyst 4 for warming-up the exhaust gas purifying catalyst 4 disposed in an exhaust passage 3 of an engine 2 equipped with a supercharger 1. The warm-up system has: an electric motor 1m as an intake volume regulating unit capable of increasing a flow rate of compressed air independent of a flow rate of exhaust gas supplied to a turbine 1t of the supercharger 1; a variable nozzle 1n for regulating a flow rate of exhaust gas flowing into the turbine 1t; and a control unit 5 for forcibly rotating the turbine 1t by the electric motor 1m, switching the variable nozzle 1n to an open state, and supplying a predetermined amount of fuel to the engine 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
