<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent displaced caulking of a retaining member of a reclining device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The reclining device 4 is so constituted that an inner tooth member 10 and an outer tooth member 20 relatively rotatably connected to each other are prevented from being pulled out axially by the retaining member 70. The retaining member 70 is integrated with the outer tooth member 20 by applying a first seat part 71 having a surface in the axial direction, to the outer board face of the inner tooth member 10, inserting respective insertion pieces 73 and the like extending axially, in the respective through-holes 24 of the outer tooth member 20, and bending and caulking end portions of the inserted insertion pieces toward the outer board face of the outer tooth member 20. The respective insertion pieces 73 and the like are disposed side by side in the circumferential direction and, when bending and caulking the end portions of the respective insertion pieces 73 and the like inserted in the through-holes, the through-holes 24 and the like support the respective insertion pieces 73 and the like with bringing them in contact in the radial direction. The through-holes 24 and the like are disposed side by side in the circumferential direction so as to balance forces for radially supporting the respective insertion pieces 73 and the like as a whole.
