<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively cool an edge part of sidewall into which a seal plate of a gas turbine stator blade is inserted. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Stator blade seal grooves 10a, 10b are formed at a position where adjacent segments of a stator blade sidewall 201 are opposed to each other in circumferential direction, and a seal plate 5 is inserted into a pair of the stator blade seal grooves 10a, 10b opposed to each other in the circumferential direction. A part of the side facing bottom parts of the stator blade seal grooves 10a, 10b of the seal plate 5 is notched, and a cooling space 11 is formed between the notched part and the bottom parts of the stator blade seal grooves 10a, 10b. A plurality of impingement cooling holes 12 for directing cooling air to the cooling space 11 are formed on a stator blade sidewall 201, and cooling air discharge passages 9, 7 for directing the cooling air, which has passed through the cooling space 11, to a combustion gas flow passage 20 side to cause it to merge with the combustion gas, are formed on the stator blade sidewall 201.
