PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seal inspecting device and a seal inspecting method each exactly inspecting a seal with a simple structure while continuously transporting a box to be inspected without stopping the transportation temporarily. SOLUTION: A guide belt with a ventilation hole is shifted from a contact state in contact with a seal position of a box to be inspected to a non-contact state out of contact with the same while the guide belt is moved approximately at the same velocity as the transportation velocity of the box to be inspected transported by a transporting device. A suction body is arranged in the boundary portion between the contact state and the non-contact state of the guide belt and on the surface, opposite the contact surface with the box, of the guide belt. The seal part of the box is sucked through the ventilation hole by the suction body to detect deformation of the box to be inspected.
