<p>A full-floating steam-powered compression catapult is presented. Its shell comprises a left cylinder (1), a right cylinder (2) and a base (5). A left cylinder cover (11) and a right cylinder cover (12) are respectively arranged on the ends of the left cylinder (1) and the right cylinder (2). A left piston (3) and a right piston (4) are respectively arranged inside the left cylinder (1) and the right cylinder (2). The left piston (3) is connected to the right piston (4) by a suspension girder (19). The chamber between the left piston (3) and the right piston (4) forms a launching chamber. A launching mechanism consists of elastic swinging rods (6), a rod base (15), a left launching rod (8) and a right launching rod (9). The left launching rod (8) and the right launching rod (9) are fastened on both ends of the rod base (15). The rod base (15) is arranged inside the launching chamber. The elastic swinging rods (6) comprise at least one group. The group of the elastic swinging rods (6) consists of several elastic swinging rods (6), which are equispaced circumferentially along the center axis of the shell. Both ends of each elastic swinging rod (6) are respectively hinged on the wall of a supporting steel ring and the rod base (15) by a big steering knuckle (48) and a small steering knuckle (49).</p> |
