<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve low torque without damaging reliability such as muddy water resistance and dust resistance in a sealing device having a sub lip of a side lip type. <P>SOLUTION: The sealing device 1 attached on an inner periphery of a shaft hole 22 of a housing 21 and sealing between the housing 21 and a shaft 23 inserted into the shaft hole 22 is provided with a main lip 3 with a lip end 3a directed to the axial direction one side, and the sub lip 4 with a lip end 4a directed to the axial direction the other side. The main lip 3 performs sealing action by the lip end 3a slidably brought into close contact with a peripheral surface of the shaft 23. The lip end 4a of the sub lip 4 is inserted into an annular recession 24 provided on the shaft 23 and opened to the axial direction one side, and an outside diameter surface 4b of the lip end 4a is opposed to an inside diameter surface 24a of an inner surface of the annular recession 24, and thereby, the sub lip 4 performs sealing action. A plurality of annular protrusions 10 are arranged and aligned on the outside diameter surface 4b of the lip end 4a of the sub lip 4 along the axial direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
