<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a relaxation apparatus which gives refreshing effect after giving relaxation effect by swinging the body. <P>SOLUTION: The relaxation apparatus 10 switches a swinging drive device 12 from relaxation swinging to stop giving fluctuations with a controller 24 arranged on the top surface of a bottom part 11a of a base 11, and controls the swinging drive device to carry out refreshing swinging which increases in synchronization with both the frequency and the amplitude of swinging movement of a body support member 13.
