<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide compact self-ballasted fluorescent lamp which, even if the temperature rise occurs due to an abnormal discharge caused by stoppage of light emission toward an end of life of a fluorescent lamp, can dispose the heat generated by a glass tube bulb and can stop a power supply to a lamp, without causing damages to a lamp structural member, and can be substituted with a conventional lighting bulb, and to provide a light fixture that uses the lamp. <P>SOLUTION: The compact self-ballasted fluorescent lamp L1 is provided with a cover body 2 on one side of which a base 1 is provided, a light-emitting tube 4, which has a bulb 40 formed of a glass tube which is bent to form a discharging passage and has an electrode arranged on an outer side of the bent portion, formed on an end portion of the bulb and the bulb end portion supported on the other side of the cover the cover 2; a lighting circuit unit 7 housed in the cover body 2, and a translucent globe which covers the light-emitting tune 4 and is fixed to the cover body 2 or a base 1.
