<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor controller wherein with respect to each phase opening means provided in each power line connecting a motor and a drive circuit, its short-circuit failure and break failure are detected. <P>SOLUTION: A microcomputer 17 opens each FET 27u, 27v, 27w as phase opening means provided in each power line 26u, 26v, 26w and thereby brings all the phases into open state in which they are not energized. Further, the microcomputer controls the drive circuit 19 to apply a voltage based on supply voltage only to a phase selected as a specific phase. If voltage based on the above supply voltage is detected as the respective terminal voltages of the two phases other than the specific phase in this state, it is determined that a short-circuit failure has occurred in the FET provided as a phase opening means in the specific phase. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
