摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for forming a liquid crystal alignment layer and a manufacturing method for liquid crystal display device using the composition, capable of forming a homogeneous flat liquid crystal alignment layer also to a large-sized substrate without uneven film thickness by a liquid droplet discharge method. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This composition for forming a liquid crystal alignment layer is for use in forming a liquid crystal alignment layer by a liquid drop discharge method. This composition includes a first organic solvent A whose surface tension is 37 mN/m or more and a second organic solvent B whose surface tension is under 32 mN/m, and a liquid crystal alignment layer forming material dissolved in the mixed solvent. The first organic solvent A and the second organic solvent B are formed by single kind or two or more kinds of organic solvents. The first organic solvent A contains a high density organic solvent A1, the density of which is 1.15g/m1 or more as an organic solvent constituting the solvent.
