<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rack type air conditioner suitable for an air conditioning system of an information communication machine room provided with a cold aisle and a hot aisle formed by a plurality of server rack rows. <P>SOLUTION: This rack type air conditioner is in the state where a compressor 22b and an air distribution fan 24 are operated and a shutter 25 is kept in an opened state in a thermostat-ON operation state. Thus a high-temperature exhaust is sucked into an indoor unit 21 from a hot aisle 6b side, cooled by an evaporator 23, and supplied to a cold aisle 6a side by the air distribution fan 24 as the cold air. Here, when the thermostat is switched OFF or the circulation of a refrigerant is stopped by the failure of a refrigerant system, the operation of the air distribution fan 24 is stopped, and the shutter 25 is closed. Thus sudden temperature rise of the cold aisle 6a caused by introduction of the high-temperature exhaust of the hot aisle 6b into the machine is prevented. When the thermostat is switched ON or the machine is recovered from the failure, the compressor 22b and the air distribution fan 24 are operated, and the shutter 25 is returned to the opened state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
