<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base material for decomposing rubber at a low temperature, and a method of decomposing rubber. <P>SOLUTION: A decomposing agent containing at least one protein selected from the group consisting of horseradish peroxidase, myoglobin, and hemoglobin.
