<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner and a method for producing the toner excellent in low temperature fixability, reducedin transfer residue when blade cleaning is used, and capable of forming an image with high picture quality and a high resolution, and to provide an image forming apparatus, an image forming method, and a process cartridge using the toner. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The toner is produced by the producing method of the toner including an aqueous granulation step, a first solvent removal step, a temperature elevation step, a second solvent removal step, a filtration step, and a cleaning step. The concentration of a residual organic solvent in an emulsion or dispersion liquid after the first solvent removal step is specified to from 10 mass% to 33 mass% with respect to the toner in the emulsion or dispersion liquid; and the temperature elevation rate in the temperature elevation step is controlled to be within a range of 0.3°C/min to 1.5°C/min.
