<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling device for a combustor. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This cooling apparatus comprises a combustor liner, and a flow sleeve for surrounding at least part of the combustor liner while providing flow annular space between the combustor liner and the flow sleeve, wherein the flow sleeve has a plurality of rows of cooling holes formed around the periphery part of the flow sleeve to guide cooling air within the flow annular space and toward the combustor liner. With one or more of cooling holes, a thimble extending toward the combustor liner in the radial direction is fitted, wherein the thimble has a peripheral wall diverging in the flow direction of the cooling air.
