<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image-forming apparatus capable of forming a prescribed coated pattern on a cloth with a sublimable ink without causing distortion in the cloth. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The image-forming apparatus includes heating means for developing the color of the sublimable ink by heating the cloth on which the coated pattern is formed to a prescribed temperature while transporting the cloth by coated cloth-transporting means. The heating means includes contact heating means having cylindrical members for heating the cloth under transportation by contacting therewith, and non-contact heating means having a heating surface on which a plurality of groove parts for storing the cylindrical members is formed. The cylindrical members are stored in at least a part of a plurality of the groove parts so that a part of the cylindrical member may protrude to the exterior. The heating means heats the cloth by the contact with the cylindrical members in the contacted state, and by the heating surface in a non-contacted state at the back and forth of the cylindrical members.
