<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly and surely remove an excessive ink on a wiping roller as a wiping apparatus of an intaglio printing machine, to control the heat generation of the roller, to continuously obtain a favorable printed matter for a long times, to enable high speed printing, and to alleviate an operator's workload. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The wiping apparatus is comprised of at least: a jet cleaning member at the entry side of the rotating direction which supplies a mixed fluid containing sublime fine particles; a suction member at the downstream of the jet cleaning member which sucks an ink residue combined with the mixed fluid; a drying member having a drying heat source at the downstream of the suction member.
