PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a decorative material which can obtains a clear coloring pattern using jet-black as a background color, and a decorative article. SOLUTION: In the decorative material 100, a fine uneven part 40 is formed in the interface of a transparent substrate 10 and a colored transparent layer 20. Therefore, an incident light into the decorative material 100 from the transparent substrate 10 side is partly reflected at the fine uneven part 40, a clear pattern can be obtained at a position corresponding to the fine uneven part 40. In addition, as a black layer 30 absorbs the light, the jet-black having a depth and exhibiting a high class feeling can be obtained. Therefore, a beautiful appearance which has not been obtained conventionally can be obtained, and the clear coloring pattern can be obtained in a background color with a jet-black feeling.
