<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid oxide fuel cell in which electrolyte resistance is made small, which prevents a short circuit of a cell, and has high heat resistance. <P>SOLUTION: The solid oxide fuel cell (10) includes an electrolyte layer (1) made of an oxide ion conductor containing cerium oxide, and a fuel electrode (2) and an air electrode (3) which pinches this electrolyte layer (1).
