<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display unit which provides enhanced contrast and is superior in visibility, and to provide a method of manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The display unit includes a plurality of light sources having light emitting elements and light-transmissive members covering the light emitting elements, and a circuit board on which the light sources are arranged. Light absorbing members covering surfaces of the light-transmissive members on the side surface side of the light emitting elements are provided between adjacent light sources, and the light absorbing members cover surfaces of the light-transmissive members on the upper surface side of the light emitting elements, and a thickness of the light absorbing members in a direction approximately perpendicular to surfaces of the light-transmissive members is thinner on the side surface side of the light emitting elements than on the upper surface side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
