<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device suppressing flicker, an image forming apparatus, and a method for controlling the fixing device. <P>SOLUTION: Temperature detecting circuits 1 to 3 (119 to 121) detect temperature of a heating target member that is heated by a heating means, and a supply control part 103a determines whether a temperature detected result of the heating target member is lower than target temperature.
