The present invention proposes a technical scheme for rapid bandwidth request and allocation for existing fault of bandwidth request and allocation in a wireless broadband access network, a mobile station transmits a bandwidth allocation request message for bandwidth allocation to a base station only once, which reduces interworking times between the base station and the mobile station, improves efficiency of bandwidth request and allocation, shortens effectively waiting time for sending service data, and especially improves support for data service sensitive to time delay. Since the present invention reduces interworking times between the base station and the mobile station, so that it saves kinds of process resources in the base station and mobile station. The base station can adjust the size of time frequency resource block for each mobile station transmitting bandwidth allocation request message according to the number of the mobile station domainated by the base station and/or service type in each mobile station, so that it can make the whole wireless communication system (including one base station and one or more mobile stations dominated by the base station) work more effectively.
