<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve correction precision for shifted color in an image. <P>SOLUTION: Each of color gradation shift widths D<SB>R</SB>and D<SB>B</SB>of R and B components from G component in a pixel of interest to be an object of correction is computed using the gradation values of the pixel of interest and first and second reference pixels based on formula described in S112 and formula described in S114 in the figure.
