<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer for dispersing a pigment, while satisfying printed character density, preservation stability, etc., capable of reducing fouling on a nozzle plate, a method for producing the same, an aqueous pigment dispersion and an aqueous ink for an inkjet-recording. <P>SOLUTION: [1] This method for producing a polymer used for dispersing the pigment by performing the solution polymerization of a polyoxyalkylene group-containing monomer etc., (A) with styrene etc., (B) is provided by decreasing the weight fraction of the monomer (B) fed to the reaction system, based on the total amount of the monomers (A) and (B) by≥20 wt.% in its feeding process.
