<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solenoid type secondary air control valve which prevents misoperations, by preventing infiltration of foreign matters into an electromagnetic actuator. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The solenoid type secondary air control valve 1 is equipped with a valve housing 15, formed with a valve hole 18 in an interior; a poppet type valve 19 comprising a valve part movably housed in the interior of the valve housing 15 and opening and closing the valve hole 18 by seating and separating away, with respect to the valve hole 18 and a valve shaft 27 jointed integrally with the valve part; the electromagnetic actuator 20 driving the poppet type valve 19 in the valve opening direction; a coil spring 21, energizing in the valve closing direction; and a dust seal 28, arranged on the same axis as the valve shaft 27 slidably sealing an outer circumference face, and preventing infiltration of foreign matters into the electromagnetic actuator 20. Back flow is blocked, by arranging a disco-shaped protective plate 50 which crosses the axial direction of the valve shaft 27, on a side closer to the same axis as the valve shaft 27, to a dust seal 28 side than to the valve part.
