An air-conditioning apparatus comprises a heat source side cooling medium circuit (A) in which a compressor (11), an outdoor heat exchanger (13), a cooling medium flow rate controller (22), and an intermediate heat exchanger (21) are sequentially connected and a use side cooling medium circuit (B) having a pump (23) connected to one end of the use side cooling medium circuit (B) for exchanging heat with the heat source side cooling medium circuit (A) of the intermediate heat exchanger (21) and a plurality of indoor heat exchangers (31n) one ends of which are connected to the pump (23) and the other ends of which are connected to the other end of the use side cooling medium circuit (B)of the intermediate heat exchanger (21). The compressor (11) and the outdoor heat exchanger (13) are provided in an outdoor unit (10). The cooling medium flow rate controller (22), the intermediate heat exchanger (21), and the pump (23) are provided in a junction portion (20). The indoor heat exchanger (31n) is provided in an indoor unit (30n). At least one of water and a nonfreezing liquid circulates as a use side cooling medium in the use side cooling medium circuit (B).
