<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal separator for a fuel cell compact in size capable of improving sealing performance at the periphery of a manifold hole. <P>SOLUTION: The metal separator for the fuel cell includes a plurality of flow path grooves 6 for making fluid for activating a fuel cell flow, manifold holes 7a, 7b, 8a, 8b, 9a and 9b which are provided on the upstream side and the downstream side of the plurality of flow path grooves 6, respectively, while being formed so as to penetrate the metal separator 2 for the fuel cell, communicating grooves 10 which connect port openings of the plurality of flow path grooves 6 and the manifold holes 7a, 7b, 8a, 8b, 9a and 9b to make the fluid flow, metal fluid circulating structures 15 which are provided near the manifold holes 7a, 7b, 8a, 8b, 9a and 9b while crossing the communicating grooves 10 and form through-holes 14 at separator surfaces 2a of the separators 2 zone-forming the communicating grooves 10, and smooth seal surfaces 12a which are formed on the fluid circulating structures 15 and brought into contact with a surface of a member shielding openings of the communicating grooves 10 to be sealed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
