<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new retainer for suture for surgery which is free from many problems related to the suture retainers of the prior art. <P>SOLUTION: A suture retainer 110 includes a one-piece retaining structure having a passageway 130 formed therein for receiving at least one suture 140.
