PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mounting device which mounts a laser diode element for a holder being mounted on a magnetic head core in a so-called assisted magnetic recording head. SOLUTION: The laser diode element is held such that the first reference surface of a core to be mounted and the surface of the laser diode element having a light emitting point may be in proximity state immediately before mounting, positional relationship of respective surfaces is determined in this proximity state by means of a displacement sensor, and fine adjustment is conducted before mounting operation is carried out.
