<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a private mail box (PMB) providing system capable of achieving paperless operation and improving the convenience of PMB utilization. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The correspondence between a document data dispatch company and a user who browses and downloads the document data is stored beforehand in a user management table 131. When the document data to a predetermined user PMB address are transmitted from the dispatch company to a cooperating server, the cooperating server 1 determines whether or not they are the document data from the corresponding dispatch company, and when they are the document data from the corresponding dispatch company, adds attribute information corresponding to a document to the document data, stores them in the PMB address of the user, and notifies the user. When the user accesses the PMB from a document downloading terminal 5 or a cellular phone 6, the title list of the stored documents is displayed, and the browsing/downloading of the document data are controlled according to the attribute information.
